Abstract
Hiperkolesterolemia merupakan gangguan metabolisme lipid yang ditandai dengan peningkatan fraksi lipid, terutama kolesterol total dan kolesterol LDL, dan menjadi penyebab utama aterosklerosis yang meningkatkan risiko penyakit kardiovaskular. Sel pro-inflamasi yang teraktivasi melepaskan Interleukin-6 sebagai respons terhadap stres oksidatif atau kerusakan endotel, serta memainkan peran penting dalam patogenesis aterosklerosis. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui korelasi antara kadar LDL dan kadar IL-6 pada pasien hiperkolesterolemia. Jenis penelitian ini menggunakan analitik observasional dengan teknik purposive sampling. Metode pemeriksaan IL-6 menggunakan metode Fluorescence Immunoassay (FIA). Dari 30 sampel pasien hiperkolesterolemia dengan kriteria kadar kolesterol total > 200mg/dL dan kadar LDL >130mg/dL didapatkan rata-rata kadar LDL yaitu 154.33 mg/dL dan rata-rata kadar IL-6 yaitu 5.79 pg/mL. Hasil uji korelasi Spearman menunjukkan koefisien korelasi sebesar 0.653 sehingga dapat disimpulkan terdapat korelasi positif yang kuat antara kadar LDL dan kadar IL-6 pada pasien hiperkolesterolemia. Hal ini mendukung hipotesis bahwa LDL berperan dalam memicu respons inflamasi sistemik yang terlihat dari kenaikan IL 6, serta berkontribusi pada progresi inflamasi vaskular dan pembentukan plak aterosklerotik.
